Designed by Foster + Partners and opened in December 2004, it wraps three acoustically separate halls inside a flowing shell of glass and stainless steel.
Its main halls, Sage One and Sage Two, host everything from classical and jazz to folk, rock and pop, and the building is home to the Royal Northern Sinfonia. Alongside concerts it runs a wide programme of music classes and learning activities for people of all ages.
