National Gallery of Kosovo
Kosovo's national art institution, showing modern and contemporary work in central Pristina.
The National Gallery of Kosovo was established in 1979 as the central public institution for the visual arts in Kosovo, and stands on Agim Ramadani street in the middle of Pristina, close to the university campus and the national library. It collects, conserves and exhibits painting, sculpture, graphic art, photography and installation, with a particular focus on Kosovar artists from the second half of the twentieth century onwards.
Alongside the collection the gallery runs a full programme of temporary exhibitions, often with international curators and partner institutions, together with talks, screenings and publications. Its exhibition halls were reconfigured and reopened in July 2026, giving larger, more flexible rooms for contemporary installation and moving-image work. The gallery has represented Kosovo in international exhibitions and acts as a coordinating body for the country's participation in biennials.
